Uruguay

Uruguay is located in Southern South America, bordering the South Atlantic Ocean between Argentina and Brazil, with mostly rolling plains and low hills and a fertile coastal lowland. The climate is warm temperate with freezing temperatures almost unknown, and three-quarters of the country is grassland ideal for cattle and sheep. Montevideo serves as the capital, and Uruguay has a population of approximately 3.45 million people who speak Spanish.

Uruguay has a high-income economy focused on food processing, electrical machinery, transportation equipment, petroleum products, textiles, chemicals, and beverages. The country’s natural resources include arable land, hydropower, minor minerals, and fish. Uruguay is the second-smallest South American country and is a major agricultural producer of milk, rice, wheat, barley, soybeans, and beef. The country faces challenges from seasonally high winds, droughts, and floods due to the absence of mountain weather barriers.
