Tanzania

Tanzania is located in Eastern Africa, bordering the Indian Ocean between Kenya and Mozambique, with terrain that includes plains along the coast, a central plateau, and highlands in the north and south. The climate varies from tropical along the coast to temperate in the highlands, and Tanzania is home to Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa. Dodoma serves as the capital, and Tanzania has a population of approximately 69.15 million people who speak Kiswahili and English as official languages.

Tanzania has an emerging lower middle-income East African economy with a resource-rich base and growing tourism sector that has driven a strong post-pandemic recovery. Key industries include agricultural processing, mining of diamonds, gold, and iron, cement, oil refining, shoes, apparel, and wood products. The country possesses abundant natural resources including hydropower, tin, phosphates, iron ore, coal, diamonds, gemstones, gold, natural gas, and nickel. Tanzania has experienced declining poverty and stable inflation, though gender-based violence causes economic and labor force disruptions.
