Tajikistan

Tajikistan is located in Central Asia, west of China and south of Kyrgyzstan, with a mountainous region dominated by the Alay Mountains in the north and the Pamirs in the southeast. The country has a mid-latitude continental climate with hot summers and mild winters, ranging to semiarid and polar conditions in the Pamir Mountains. Dushanbe serves as the capital, and Tajikistan has a population of approximately 10.59 million people who primarily speak Tajik, along with Uzbek, Kyrgyz, and Russian.

Tajikistan has a lower-middle-income Central Asian economy driven by large infrastructure projects including the Rogun Dam, with a push toward green development and digitalization. Key industries include aluminum, cement, coal, gold, silver, antimony, textiles, and vegetable oil. The country possesses natural resources such as hydropower, some petroleum, uranium, mercury, brown coal, lead, zinc, antimony, tungsten, silver, and gold. The economy faces challenges including land scarcity, climate vulnerability, and complex bureaucratic processes for investors.
