Morocco

Morocco is a country located in Northern Africa along the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, between Algeria and Mauritania, covering an area of approximately 716,550 square kilometers. As of 2024, Morocco has a population of over 37.4 million, with Arabic and Tamazight as official languages and French widely used in business and government. Rabat serves as the capital, and the government operates as a parliamentary constitutional monarchy.

Morocco has a lower-middle-income economy with a GDP of $154.43 billion and a GDP per capita of $9,100, driven by automotive parts, phosphate mining and processing, aerospace, food processing, leather goods, textiles, construction, energy, and tourism. Key agricultural products include wheat, milk, potatoes, sugar beets, tomatoes, barley, and olives, while Morocco holds the world’s largest phosphate reserves. The unemployment rate is 9% as of 2025, with a life expectancy of 75.5 years. Morocco continues to recover from recent drought and earthquake impacts, rebounding via tourism, manufacturing, and raw materials processing.
