Malaysia is a country located in Southeastern Asia, comprising a peninsula bordering Thailand and the northern third of the island of Borneo, covering an area of approximately 329,847 square kilometers. As of 2025, Malaysia has a population of over 34.9 million, with Bahasa Malaysia as the official language alongside English, Chinese dialects, Tamil, and other languages. The country features coastal plains rising to hills and mountains, with a tropical climate influenced by annual southwest and northeast monsoons. Kuala Lumpur serves as the capital.

Malaysia has an upper-middle-income economy with a GDP of $421.97 billion and a GDP per capita of $34,100, driven by rubber and oil palm processing, petroleum and natural gas, light manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, electronics and semiconductors, and timber processing. Key agricultural products include oil palm fruit, rice, chicken, eggs, tropical fruits, and rubber, while natural resources include tin, petroleum, timber, copper, iron ore, natural gas, and bauxite. The unemployment rate is 3.8% as of 2025. Malaysia is a major global exporter of electronics, oil, and chemicals, with the trade sector employing over 40% of the workforce.
