French Polynesia

French Polynesia is an overseas collectivity of France located in the South Pacific Ocean, comprising over 100 islands including Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Moorea, covering a land area of approximately 4,167 square kilometers spread across a vast ocean area. French and Tahitian serve as official languages, and Papeete on Tahiti serves as the administrative capital. The islands feature volcanic mountain terrain with stunning lagoons and coral reefs, experiencing a tropical climate.

French Polynesia’s economy is driven primarily by tourism, which accounts for a significant portion of GDP, along with French government subsidies, pearl farming, and fishing. The islands are renowned as a luxury travel destination, with overwater bungalows and pristine beaches attracting visitors from around the world. French Polynesia also produces black pearls, which are a significant export. The territory has a high degree of autonomy within the French Republic and continues to develop its tourism infrastructure while preserving its unique Polynesian culture and environment.
