Comoros

Comoros is an island country located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of East Africa, between Madagascar and Mozambique, covering an area of approximately 2,235 square kilometers. The country consists of three volcanic islands: Grande Comore, Anjouan, and Moheli. Comorian, French, and Arabic serve as official languages, and Moroni on Grande Comore serves as the capital. The islands feature volcanic terrain with mountains and beautiful beaches, experiencing a tropical marine climate.

Comoros is one of the poorest countries in the world, with an economy based on agriculture, fishing, and remittances from overseas workers. Key exports include vanilla, cloves, and ylang-ylang, which is used in perfumes. The country faces significant challenges including political instability, limited infrastructure, high population density, and vulnerability to natural disasters. Despite these difficulties, Comoros maintains a unique cultural heritage blending African, Arab, and French influences.
