Andorra

Andorra is a small principality located in Southwestern Europe in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain, covering an area of just 468 square kilometers. As of 2024, Andorra has a population of approximately 85,370, with Catalan as the official language alongside Castilian, Portuguese, and French widely spoken. The country’s terrain is characterized by rugged mountains dissected by narrow valleys, with a temperate climate featuring snowy, cold winters and warm, dry summers. Andorra la Vella serves as the capital, and the government operates as a parliamentary democracy with a unique co-principality system.

Andorra boasts a high-income economy with a GDP of approximately $4.04 billion and an impressive GDP per capita of $65,900, one of the highest in the world. Key industries include tourism, particularly skiing, banking, timber, and furniture, with the country serving as a popular duty-free destination. The population enjoys excellent healthcare with a life expectancy of 84.2 years and high urbanization at 87.8%. Despite not being an EU member, Andorra uses the euro and continues to modernize its financial sector while attracting technology investments.
